Ship better websites and
product workflows
without hiring an agency.
I'm Donta' Ruffin — a full-stack developer and designer who works with AI-assisted workflows to help small teams and solo founders ship faster, with less chaos and more craft.
Who I
work with
I partner with early-stage founders, small businesses, and teams who need a reliable builder to turn ideas into working interfaces, websites, and internal tools — without layers of process or a big-agency bill.
If you have a product to launch, a site that needs to grow up, or workflows that should be simpler, I help you get from "we should…" to "it's live."
Ways we can
work together
Below are three focused ways I can help this summer. Each engagement is human-led and AI-accelerated — I design the solution, orchestrate the workflows, and keep you in the loop while my AI tools handle a lot of the repetitive work in the background.
Quick Sprint
Fast, focused help for fixes, improvements, and small builds.

Quick Sprint —
fast wins for your existing site or product
Perfect when you need a reliable dev-designer to jump in, fix things, and ship improvements quickly.
Use a Quick Sprint when you already have a site or product, but something needs to be tightened, improved, or shipped — without spinning up a huge project.
You get my full attention on one well-defined set of changes, plus AI-assisted help for debugging, refactoring, and checking edge cases so we can move quickly and safely.
What this can include
- Landing page or homepage improvements
- Design refreshes for key screens or flows
- Frontend bug fixes and UI polish
- Performance or UX tweaks
- Small new features or components
- Copy and layout updates to improve clarity and conversions
What you receive
A scoped list of changes, implemented in your existing stack, with a short summary of what was done and what to consider next.
Investment: Quick Sprints start at $400 for tightly scoped work.
Website Build —
a launch-ready site for your product or business
For founders and small teams who need a simple, modern site that feels trustworthy and is easy to update.
If you're launching something new or your current site no longer fits where you're going, this is for you. Together we define your goals, content, and structure, then I design and build a site that looks sharp, loads fast, and gives visitors a clear next step.
I use AI-assisted research and content drafting to accelerate the early brainstorming and copy passes, then refine everything by hand so the final site still sounds like you.
What's included
- Discovery call to clarify goals, audience, and success metrics
- Site map and content structure for 3–5 core pages
- Visual design aligned with your brand (or a simple starter system if you don't have one yet)
- Responsive build for desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Basic SEO-friendly structure (headings, meta, clean URLs)
- Contact form or simple lead-capture flow
- Loom walkthrough so you can edit or hand off your site confidently
What you receive
A live, production-ready website with clear navigation, thoughtful content, and a maintainable codebase or CMS setup, plus a short guide to keeping it healthy.
Investment: Website Builds start at $1,800 for a 3–5 page site, depending on scope and stack.
Research + Build —
when you're not sure what to build next
For founders and teams who need help thinking and building: research, strategy, and a concrete artifact you can use immediately.
Sometimes the hardest part is deciding what to build, not writing the code. In a Research + Build engagement, I combine AI-assisted research with my own product and engineering experience to help you quickly understand the landscape, then turn that into something real.
This is ideal for new product ideas, internal tools, learning platforms, or content systems where you want a thoughtful plan and a working example, not just a slide deck.
What's included
- Clarifying session to define the question or problem
- Research into comparable products, patterns, and constraints
- A concise written summary with key findings and options
- One focused build: a prototype, a key page, or a critical flow
- Recommendations for next steps and how to extend the work
What you receive
A research-backed brief and a working starting point — so you can make a confident call about what to do next, and avoid wasting cycles building the wrong thing.
Investment: Research + Build projects start at $900, depending on depth and deliverables.
How we'll
work together
I try to keep the process simple and transparent, especially if you're juggling a lot or moving fast. Here's what working together looks like:
- 01
Intro + fit check
Share a bit about your product, timeline, and goals. If we’re a good fit, we pick the smallest useful scope that moves you forward.
- 02
Scope + proposal
I confirm a fixed or range-based price, outline the deliverables and timeline, and we agree on the starting point. No surprise scope creep.
- 03
Build phase (human-led, AI-assisted)
I design, build, and/or research using a mix of my own experience and AI workflows to move faster. You get async updates and chances to give feedback without endless meetings.
- 04
Review + refine
We review the work together, make refinements, and test against your goals. I translate any “under the hood” technical decisions into plain language.
- 05
Launch + handoff
Once you’re happy, we ship. You get any necessary documentation, Loom walkthroughs, and a clear view of what to do next.
Why work with me
instead of a generic agency
or just an AI?
I sit at the intersection of design, engineering, and teaching — which means I care about how things look, how they work, and whether they make sense to humans using them.
I use AI tools as part of my process, but not as a replacement for thought. They help me explore more options, spot issues faster, and keep projects moving while you're busy running your business. You still get a single accountable partner, not a black box.
- Full-stack + UX mindset — I think in terms of flows and systems, not just pages.
- Async-friendly — Clear written updates and Looms so we can make progress without constant calls.
- Focused on outcomes — The point isn’t a pretty site; it’s a site that supports your product and helps your users.
Common
questions
Do you only work with local clients?
No. Most of my work is remote. I’m based in Pennsylvania but happy to work with clients in different time zones as long as we can align on communication and timelines.
What stacks do you usually work with?
I’m comfortable across modern web stacks (for example, React/Next, TypeScript, Tailwind, and common backend options), and I can usually work within what you already have if it’s reasonable. If we’re starting from scratch, I’ll recommend a stack that fits your goals and maintenance capacity.
How soon can we start?
Availability changes throughout the year, but I typically keep room for a small number of focused projects. Reach out with your timeline and I’ll let you know what’s realistic.
Ready to ship
something together?
If you have a project in mind — or even just a problem you're trying to solve — I'd love to hear about it. Tell me a bit about your product, your timeline, and which package feels closest, and I'll follow up with a simple next step.
