AI governance and
developer workflows,
made practical.

I'm Donta' Ruffin — a full-stack developer who helps engineering teams get transparent, audit-ready, and less noisy in code review, using AI-assisted workflows and EU AI Act-aware practices.

// Audience

Who I
work with

I partner with engineering leaders and small-to-mid teams who are already using AI coding tools or agents and need a practical way to show transparency, oversight, and documentation — without a big-firm compliance bill.

Since August 2, 2026, transparency obligations under the EU AI Act have been directly applicable, and GPAI governance rules have been in force since August 2025. If that's news to you, you're not alone — and it's exactly the gap this work closes.

// Offer 01

AI & Agent
Governance Readiness Audit

EU AI Act transparency + internal controls, made practical.

A practical, evidence-producing audit of the AI systems and agents already running in your organization. You'll leave knowing exactly where you stand against current EU AI Act transparency expectations, what's genuinely staged for later (and when), and with a concrete evidence pack you can hand to leadership, customers, or an auditor.

Deliverables

  • AI & agent system inventory — every AI tool, agent, and model touching your product or workflows, mapped by risk category
  • Transparency & labeling practices review — where AI-generated content, chatbots, or automated decisions need disclosure today
  • Logging & audit-trail design — including code review logs, agent action logs, and decision records
  • Prioritized recommendations — separated into "do now" (transparency, documentation, oversight) and "plan for" (high-risk obligations staged to Dec 2027 / Aug 2028)
  • A written evidence pack — the actual artifact you can show an auditor, enterprise customer, or your own leadership

What you receive

A practical evidence pack — not legal advice, but a real artifact your team, customers, or auditors can review, plus a clear "do now vs. plan for" roadmap tied to actual EU AI Act timelines.

Investment: Governance Readiness Audits start at $1,200 for a focused inventory + evidence pack, depending on scope.

Developer Workflow
& Standards Upgrade

Powered by Solon — less review noise, more signal, in 30 days.

A hands-on engagement to install Solon, define your team's actual standards (not a generic style guide), and cut PR review noise so engineers only see what matters — with a 30-day plan and measurable before/after outcomes.

Deliverables

  • Solon implementation — installed and configured on your real repos, tuned to your stack
  • Team standards playbook — your team's must-fix rules documented and enforced, not left as tribal knowledge
  • High-signal review tuning — noise reduction measured (comments-per-PR before vs. after)
  • 30-day improvement plan — baseline, weekly checkpoints, and measurable outcomes (review turnaround time, noise reduction, standards violations caught pre-merge)

What you receive

A working, standards-enforcing review pipeline on your real repos, plus a documented before/after comparison you can share with your team or leadership.

Investment: Developer Workflow & Standards Upgrades start at $1,500 for the 30-day engagement, depending on repo count and scope.

// Process

How we'll
work together

I try to keep the process simple and transparent, especially if you're juggling a lot or moving fast. Here's what working together looks like:

  1. 01

    Intro + fit check

    Share a bit about your team, your AI usage, and your timeline. If we’re a good fit, we pick the smallest useful scope that moves you forward.

  2. 02

    Scope + proposal

    I confirm a fixed price, outline the deliverables and timeline, and we agree on the starting point. No surprise scope creep.

  3. 03

    Audit or build phase

    I run the inventory/audit or implement Solon and your standards playbook, using a mix of my own experience and AI-assisted workflows to move faster.

  4. 04

    Review + evidence pack

    We review findings or results together. You get a concrete evidence pack or a measured before/after, not just a slide deck.

  5. 05

    Handoff + next steps

    You get clear documentation, a Loom walkthrough where useful, and a plain-language view of what to do next — including what’s staged for later under the EU AI Act.

// Why me

Why work with me
instead of a compliance firm
or just an AI?

I sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and governance — which means I care about whether your documentation is actually true, not just whether a checklist got filled in.

I use AI tools as part of my process, but not as a replacement for judgment. You still get a single accountable partner who built the tool (Solon) doing the work — not a black box or a generic template.

  • Full-stack + governance mindset — I think in terms of systems, standards, and evidence, not just code.
  • Async-friendly — Clear written updates and Looms so we can make progress without constant calls.
  • Focused on outcomes — The point isn’t a report; it’s a documented, working improvement to your process.

"Solon gives us a log we can actually point to — not just a green checkmark on a PR."

// FAQ

Common
questions

Do you only work with local clients?

No. Most of my work is remote. I’m based in Pennsylvania but happy to work with clients in different time zones as long as we can align on communication and timelines.

Is this legal advice?

No. The Governance Readiness Audit is a practical, engineering-led review of your AI/agent inventory, transparency practices, and logging — based on general EU AI Act expectations and best practices. For formal legal compliance sign-off, pair this with your counsel.

What if we’re not using Solon yet?

That’s fine — the Governance Readiness Audit is tool-agnostic. If a code-review logging gap comes up during the audit, the Developer Workflow & Standards Upgrade (which implements Solon) is a natural next step, but it’s never required.

How soon can we start?

Availability changes throughout the year, but I typically keep room for a small number of focused engagements. Reach out with your timeline and I’ll let you know what’s realistic.

Will we own the evidence pack and standards docs?

Yes. Everything produced for you is yours — full access, no lock-in.

Do you work with non-technical stakeholders?

Yes. I translate technical findings into plain language for leadership, and can present the evidence pack directly to non-technical stakeholders or auditors.
